  • Everyone plays 2 preliminary round games.
  • Win-Loss records from preliminary round are used to seed the bracket.
  • Losses in the preliminary round DO NOT count towards your tournament losses.​

  • A coin toss is held before each game  
  • Coin Toss Winner:  Names the 2 teams in game
  • Coin Toss Loser:  Chooses team to control, OR which side to control (player 1 or 2)

  • Example 1:
  • Player A:  Wins toss & says “Seattle vs Denver”
  • Player B:  Chooses Seattle
  • Player A:  Takes Denver & chooses preferred controller
 
  • Example 2:
  • Player A:  Wins toss & says “Seattle vs Denver”
  • Player B:  Chooses to use Player 1 controller
  • Player A:  Chooses Denver & Player 2 controller
  • Player B:  Is Seattle with Player 1 controller

The offense is not allowed to gain yards when the defense chooses the same play.
Should this occur, the penalties are as follows...
  • A running play for more than 2 yards results in loss of down & yardage on next play.
  • Passing completion will result in turning ball over on next down (throwing an INT).

> Should that occur, the Touchdown will not be reflected in the final score of the game.

  • Tecmo Bowl:  1st half equipment malfunction results in game replayed from the start.
  • A 2nd half malfunction results in only second half being replayed.  Scores from each half are combined to obtain final score.

Organizers reserve the right to declare winner without replaying any portion of a game if...

  • Game is un-competitive or the equipment malfunctioned due to human cause (throwing controller, kicking table, etc and resets the NES).

  • Tournament organizer reserves the right to disqualify a participant for disruptive behavior.
  • Tournament organizer Brad B. will decide all disputes, unless he is a player in the disputed game, then Nathan M. will resolve the dispute.
